November 2011 Colour Blog Hop

Welcome to November's Colour Blog Hop. If you are here from Kirsty's blog you are in the right place

This months colour scheme has a cocoa/chocolate theme

I thought this scheme was perfect for a layout of my wedding dress (picture quality not good as taken using I Phone). Butterflies cut out of American Crafts kraft paper, Misting using Studio Calico's Mr Hueys in Calico White, and mask by Studio Calico. Brown paper also American Crafts and pearls (from my craft stash).

Please go here for the next participant in this blog hop and I look forward to seeing you in December for the next blog

Good Evening from Pickle Land

Hope you have a good day/evening wherever in the world you are

Love Lesley xx

  1. Very elegant page! Love those butterflies and the background design you used.

  2. Beautiful dress! I love your take on the challenge:)

  3. This looks great - I love the use of the stencil on background. Very classy :0)

  4. Wonderful idea using your wedding dress in a layout! I've got the uniform I wore when I graduated nursing school and nurses don't wear dresses anymore it seems, so taking a photo of it and documenting it would be great. (use this link, not the blogger link with my name)

  5. Hi Lesley, I hope you're still ok to come on the Bloggers' Crafting Weekend next Friday.
Just a memory jogger - I sent out a group e-mail on 11th, asking for several bits of info; I need a reply from you asap please! I'll post an e-mail reminder too, but just in case the e-mails are not getting through!
    Thanks, Lizzie

  6. Beautiful layout and dress. I love the butterflies and pearls.

  7. Gorgeous page about your dress - very elegant! I think I recognise those butterflies! (thanks for the loan of the punch)

November round up- Scrapbooking retreats ahoy!!

November has been a strange yet good month. I have been made redundant from my job in local government (my last day at work was Friday 25th - official day of leaving is tomorrow 30th). And though I'm worried about finding another job, I'm definitely looking forward to having some free time (whilst looking for another job) and doing the many things on my list of things to do - like sort out my craft room, Christmas shopping, JYC 2011, a good clear out and doing a little cooking/baking.

Leading up to last Friday was a mix of emotions and though I am not sad to leave my place of work (it feels the right time to leave), I am sad not to be working with some people. But you can not stay in a place just for the people, and I've got to do the right thing for me for once.

However, November has been a really good month on the craft front. I firstly attended the Sarah's Cards Retreat in Warrington (see picture below with two lovely ladies Mandy and Mell) and then this weekend I att…
