Thinking of weddings

As the world watches Prince William and Catherine Middleton - now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge marry, thoughts come back to my own wedding day just 18 months ago. Certainly not grand or as opulent as the wedding today, but special all the same for AJ and myself.

Hope you enjoy the rest of this special 29th April 2011

Hope to speak to you very soon

On a different note, just want to say Thank you to all people that have commented on my blog lately. It is nice to know that my Ickle Pickle blog is being read and also to discover new blogs along the way. I hope to have a closer look at your blogs in the next few days over the bank holiday weekend xx

So far I have purchased February and March's kits and have done a couple pages each and have still loads of the kits contents left. Great value for money so please check her out. Can't wait to get paid this month to purchase April's kit.

I love the picture of AJ on this layout. It was taken in scourching heat in St Johann in Tirol, Austria last July. AJ looks so happy.

London trip

Last weekend, AJ and I took a little trip to London as we had tickets to see Peter Kay at the O2 Arena. We booked into a hotel in the Docklands area overlooking Canary Wharf from across the Thames which was a short tube ride away from the O2. We had a great evening. Peter Kay was really funny and I was impressed by the O2 and had we realised it had lots of bars and restaurants, we would have got there earlier and had a bite to eat.

On the Monday, we decided to go to Greenwich for a few hours before we needed to catch our train back home. AJ and I found Greenwich charming and wished we had more time to explore and visit the sights. The sun was shining and it felt a million miles away from anywhere.

We plan to visit Greenwich again next year when the Cutty Sark has been fully refurbished and also visit more of London.

We had a lovely weekend away and was the break AJ and I needed to recharge our batteries. I even didn't mind going on the Underground (I have a big fear of escalators). The weekend changed my opinion of London. Before hand I would have said I didn't like London - my last visit was twenty years ago when I was an untravelled teenager when I found it too busy and intimidating. Visiting Greenwich at least has changed my mind and now I'm looking forward to exploring more of London in the near future.

This time last year- Shimelle Prompt

Another quick post prompted by BFS day 13

This time last year, Adventures in Pickle Land didn't exist. It hadn't entered my head at all to create a little blog. In fact, I used take the micky out of some blogs that I had previously viewed- thinking they were so mushy and saccharin sweet.

I scrapbooked and card made sporadically (well even more sporadically than I used to). I didn't really have an outlet to show my scrapbook pages - other than my BF Chris and AJ.

What a difference a year has made.

I started Adventures in Pickle Land in June 2010, so nearly 10 months ago. I feel I am scrapbooking more and developing my own style. I'm enjoying blog hopping and discovering new blogs. I'm developing my writing style and finding my own voice. I an constantly thinking scrapbooking and scrapbook layouts. I even visit places with scrapbooking in mind and get AJ in on the act.

For example, this weekend, AJ and I visited London, so we have kept train and Underground tickets, collected maps and leaflets and AJ took a few photos too.

(I'll be writing about our visit to London this weekend when hopefully AJ has sent me across all the pics he took and I can make a scrapbook layout or two).

I have enjoyed posting a few pictures (especially of my cats Kiwi and Willow), scrapbook layouts, cards, and general musings over the past ten months. It has kept me occupied and I think more creative than I ever thought possible just one year ago.

Forever Blowing Bubbles

Here is layout I created using the February Forever Love Kit from the Make and Create Shop I thought this kit was fantastic and great value for money

You can get kit from http://themakeandcreateshop.blogspot.com/ This has got to be one of my favourite layouts ever. I feel like I've come a long way from just adding a photo on page and a few stickers.
